Frosty Nights...

The garden has been struck by frost and has turned into a cold, mushy, brown lump of dead zinnias. Frost may hit within the next few days, but oh well...

Divided Peace Lily

I divided a rootbound peace lily today into two plants. I planted both of them in fresh soil and they should do well...I hope!

Rioting Continues in France!

As most you are well aware, there are huge riots going on in France. These riots, mainly dominated by young Muslim men from neighborhoods that are not well-to-do, have resulted in the burning of churches, schools, and over 4,000 cars. More than 1,000 people have been arrested and many police officers have been wounded. The violence started after the deaths of two young people who were hiding from the police. The youths were electrocuted in an accident at a power station. Rioting is now spreading into other areas of Europe, and the future of Paris is shrouded in mystery.

Giant Bird of Paradise

I divided a Giant Bird of Paradise today and transplanted an offshoot. The original plant was in a rootbound pot and wasn't doing very well. Hopefully it will take and root!

A Coconut Palm

This blog was created by a tropical plant freak who wishes to grow coconut palm trees, guavas, bananas, and other plants from tropical climes. The creator of this blog also yearns for trips to Hawaii and warm places. Enjoy (what there is to enjoy, at least)...
